How I Serve You

The decision to purchase voluntary insurance (as opposed to coverage the government or bank demands you buy) involves a good amount of soul searching and responsibility because when you are spending money on insurance you cannot spend it on something else. This speaks to your view of being responsible vs. Living for today and not thinking about tomorrow.

Your decision to investigate coverage is a personal matter which I take very seriously. As a husband; father, and long term insurance professional who now has two beautiful granddaughters to round out my family. I grasp the importance of voluntary insurance protection.

For most situations I encounter the decision to purchase voluntary coverage concerns a few product items: life insurance; disability-income protection; long term care insurance or products to fill gaps in Medicare. My clients generally rely upon me to recommend the best products for them. The fact is…I cannot make a product recommendation until I have a good understanding of what makes the person I am working with tick. To get to this point, I use a carefully designed approach.

The Process

In working with an individual, a family; or a business I pretty much use the same basic steps:

The Intake - this step involves a first meeting (almost always in person) where I am able to ask questions and also determine how much additional information my prospect will need from me before they are in a position to make an informed product decision. This stage also gives me a chance to ask questions about a person's health or financial history that could be significant for an insurance application if underwriting is required.

Options - once I feel the person I am working with has a fundamental understanding of which products might work in their situation I engage them in a conversation to make certain that their understanding is accurate.

Presentation - this step involves me presenting two or three options for review and explain them in detail to whoever will be involved in the buying decision.

Once a decision is made I provide an application to the client and we go over it to make sure that the client is fully on board with their selection.

Once insurance coverage has been approved I almost always deliver a policy in person and go through the important details with the buyer.

Reviews - my clients have an ongoing service commitment from me so that any time they want to review anything I am available and once each year I reach out to ask if the client wants to review any items so far as coverage is concerned.

You may Want to consider

The decision to pursue or apply for voluntary coverage centers on a few basic questions you may want to ask yourself:

Will someone suffer financially if I suddenly die; become disabled; or have a serious medical problem?

Can I afford voluntary coverage? Can I afford not to have voluntary coverage? Wha I can I eliminate from my expenses in order to purchase the coverage I need?

If I need life insurance should I get Whole Life; or Term insurance; or maybe a combination? What riders might make sense to add to the coverage?

How much coverage is enough?

When I die would I like to leave a legacy to family members and how should this legacy be structured to provide the most benefit?

What does my debt profile look like?

How much do I owe on my mortgage?

Do I have big student loans or large credit card debt?

Have I taken a large loan to fund a business or home renovation?

What will be the impact of taxes and inflation on any money I have accumulated? Can I benefit from the tax free cash builtd up in a whole life policy?

Would I like to have a life insurance policy that also provides a long term care benefit so I can afford the costs associated with care?

If Insurance Coverage Was Free.... How much coverage would you want?
